Note: All competitors should be aware of the following with respect to the Yukon/Northwest Territories Curling Championships and how it may affect them:

Athletes competing at the Yukon/Northwest Territories Curling Championship level will be responsible for booking flights and paying for their airfare prior to departure. They will also be required to submit only their airfare receipts to the Yukon Curling Association prior to departure in order to claim travel funding from Lotteries Yukon.

In the event that a hosting association has only one team and the visiting association has two teams in an individual championship, the visiting association has the choice of hosting the event subject to the following:

a) the new host association pays the travel cost of the visiting team, such cost to be limited to 4 team members and the lowest available airfare between the lesser of:
   1) the original host site and the new host site,
   2) the original association's territorial capital city and the new host site; and
   3) the competing team’s home community and the new host site.

b) the visiting association must declare their wish to host the championship within 24 hours of the original host notifying them that they have only one team. If both associations only have one team, the host site remains as scheduled.

Men’s Championship:

Please note: Men’s Level 1 is scheduled at the Watson Lake Curling Club and Men’s Level 2 play downs are scheduled at Whitehorse Curling Club;

All games in the draw must be played in the determined championship format at both levels of play.

Yukon Men’s Curling Championship

A two-stage event will be staged to identify the two representative teams for the Yukon in the Yukon/NWT men’s championships when five or more teams have entered. Stage one consists of an open format event for all eligible competitors. The first event will declare four representatives for the second stage.

Any community YCA deems appropriate to hold such a competition can host the first event.

The declared four teams will then compete in a double round robin event. The seeding of the teams will compliment that of the Yukon/NWT Championships. The two representative teams for the Yukon/NWT championships will be declared from the four competing teams.

The Whitehorse Curling Club would be asked to host the second stage event.

If four or fewer teams enter the championship, only one stage will be required to be played to determine the two representative teams for the Yukon/NWT championships. One of the two predetermined event dates and host clubs will be used for the championship. The location of the one stage event will be determined based on proximity of the location of residence of the majority of participants entered.

In the event that four or less teams enter into the Yukon Men’s Curling Championship, all teams will be required to pay an equivalent entry fee had the two stage event occurred.

Registration Deadline:

In all cases, the registration deadline will be 5:00 pm on the respective date indicated on the front cover (first page) of the YCA Season of Championships Event Schedule Poster.
